CodeMob is a project designed to improve the acquisition of key digital skills in the context of ICT telecentres. This objective is twofold: on the one hand, we aim to develop unemployed young people's digital skills through introductory courses on programming and innovative mobile devices; on the other hand, our purpose is to improve facilitators and trainers' skills through specific "training of trainers".

 Why programming and mobile devices?

There is a growing need for digital skills in all jobs where digital technology is a key element to carry out the tasks. In the close future, 90% ofthe  jobs across all sectors of the economy will require a certain level of digital skills.

Programming is a way to teach algorithmic and computational thinking and a catalyst of thought that combines creativity with structured approach, efficiency and capacity planning.

The effective use of mobile devices like smartphones and tablets can greatly enhance the learning and personal development, social skills, connectivity, and ultimately the ability to find a good job. And yes, we also want to teach to develop applications for mobile devices!

Who can participate?

We will develop and deliver an online and offline training program during three months for a group of 20 facilitators (five from each country: Belgium, Croatia, Hungary and Spain). Then the end users will receive training in the fields of programming and mobile devices usage. The target group for the end users will be young people, with a special focus towards those who are not attending formal education or are unemployed. Our aim is to involve at least 60 youngsters, 15 from each of the four countries.

What is the purpose of the study?

In the upcoming months, we will develop the training program for both facilitators and trainers and youngsters. With the help of this survey we would like to know your experiences in the matters of programming and use of mobile devices as a mobilizer or trainer. We would also like to know your learning needs, and interests, your specific opinion on how the training should be structured and ultimately, the possible interest in participating in the CodeMob experience.

If you're interested, please answer this survey before 31st January 2016.
